West Palm VA clinic expands vaccine eligibility to veterans age 70 and up this holiday weekend

Veterans 70 and older can get a free COVID-19 vaccine at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend – no appointment required.

An earlier program required veterans to be at least 75.

Veterans of all ages working as essential frontline workers are also eligible to receive the vaccine.

You must be an eligible veteran receiving care at the VA to get the vaccine.

“We have had a tremendous response to this weekend’s COVID-19 Vaccine clinic at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center,” the VA Medical Center said in a statement. “Therefore, we have expanded our COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic’s access.”

The vaccines will be given until 3 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at the walk-in clinic at 7305 N. Military Trail in West Palm Beach.

Veterans must be able to return to the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center for a second dose in 21 to 28 days.

Eligible Veterans who receive care at VA and are employed as fire fighters, police officers, corrections officers, food and agricultural workers, U.S. Postal Service workers, manufacturing workers, grocery store workers, public transit workers, teachers, support staff and daycare workers can also get the vaccine. Veterans should bring proof of employment.

Veteran of all ages must show their photo ID and discharge records.
