The IKAN Bowler is a bowling ramp designed for use by individuals who use wheelchairs. Mmade of aluminum with a baked-on powder coat finish, stainless steel and PVC plastic, the unit attaches to virtually any straight or sports-style foot rests, including center post wheelchairs. This system enables the bowler to control the speed, direction, and timing of the bowling ball's release. Wheelchair movement and the parabolic bowling arm generate the energy to propel the ball down the lane. Braking the wheelchair sends the ball in the direction the bowler desires. The unit can be used either as a dynamic device (releasing the ball from the momentum of stopping a moving wheelchair) or as a stationary device. As a dynamic device, the wheelchair is positioned from six to twelve feet behind the lane's foul line, then proceeds forward at a speed no greater than four miles per hour before stopping short of the foul line. As a stationary device, the unit maximizes ball control and speed, even though the wheelchair is not moving. OPTIONS: Universal Mount or Center Post Mount (one required, but not included). WEIGHT: The Bowler and Universal Mount weigh 19.5 pounds.
