--- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: Adapted knife and cutting board to allow slicing and chopping by a person with a partial hand or partial use of a hand. Device consists of a wooden cutting board with a swivel pin at one end to which a chopping knife can be fastened by its tip. Materials include the board (about 15 by 18 inches), a ten inch chef's knife, a 1 1/2 inch aluminum cotter pin and a 2 1/2 inch aluminum piston bolt. The board can be anchored to a table or counter with suction cups. Includes instructions and drawings. SKILLS REQUIRED: Woodworking. Metalworking.
