The K'NEX Construction Sets are toy building piece kits designed for encouraging children's imaginations through fun while promoting eye hand coordination. The sets consist of differently shaped pieces that snap together to form geometric configurations, animals, vehicles, buildings, or any other form the childthinks up. Color-coded instructions help children to match colors and shapes while building their models. Children with visual disabilities have been able to construct figures using tactile discrimination. The connectors make it possible to build straight lines, curves, and 45-, 90-, and 270-degree angles. Pulleys, tires, and rubber bands (included in some sets) add movement to turn the models into action toys. Solo kits ($9.99) contain the pieces and instructions for a particular model (e.g. a Motorcycle, Helicopter, Flying Saucer). The Basic Set ($34.99) includes 325 pieces and includes 20 model instructions; the Intermediate Set ($59.99) has 770 pieces for 35 models; and the Giant Set ($99.99) has 1800 pieces and instructions for building 50 different models. A Motor Pack is also available for motorizing models from the Intermediate and Giant Sets. SAFETY FEATURES: Components of the sets are made with rounded and radiused edges to be smooth instead of sharp.
