Don't let stress in the next two weeks rob you of the joy of Christmas season
The Elberton Star & Examiner - 12/13/2017
The National Institute of Health reports that Christmas is the time of year that people experience a high incidence of depression.
First and foremost, if the depression is serious, seek help from a qualified mental health professional.
Beyond that, "Psychology Today" recommends:
? Setting a budget on money spent on gifts and a limit on social events.
? Don't accept any ?perfect' representations of Christmas ? be present and enjoy each moment as best as you can.
? Become involved in giving in a non-monetary way through charities and worthwhile causes that help less fortunate people.
? Be grateful for what you have instead of what you don't have.
? Avoid excessive rumination about your life.
? Do interesting and fun things during the Christmas season.
? Take part in church activities and focus on the true meaning of the Christmas season.
? Focus your thoughts on all the good things about Christmas ? loving kindness, generosity and gratitude!
